Jianshui: View of South Gate

Visiting Jianshui in southern Yunnan, my family stayed in a courtyard home (depicted in the foreground), near the south gate.

While originally a military structure, the first floor of the south gate tower now houses a tea ware shop featuring local ceramics, where I purchased a small purple clay teapot. The teapot has since become a constant companion to me in my studio as I work through my artistic process.
