Boundless

This scene depicts a lighthearted moment between grandparents and granddaughter at the north shore of Prince Edward Island. One of my goals in this painting was to give each figure a distinct personality through their posture and movement. During the process of painting, I was particularly drawn to the way their shadows stretched across the water. While subtle, this shape became as important to the composition as the figures themselves.
